These six micro gps weather satellites are called the Constellation of Observing System Meteorology Ionosphere and Climate. The shortened form is known as COSMIC. Due to this collection of weather satellites and the technology of the global positioning satellites the various changes that are seen in the weather can be gathered quickly.
Based on these observations and the data that is provided the various weather departments can inform the general public about the type of weather that they can expect to see in their locality. The predictions that are made from the gps data allows the forecasting of the weather for about a week to be made with some accuracy.
Technology is always advancing. The ways that we use the technology can help to enhance the quality of our lives. One of the more important ways that technology can help is by predicting the weather.
